The second book in the Ylem trilogy

I know this is coming late, REALLY late, and that some of you want to kill me for taking so long to get Alluvion out there--I know apologies aren't enough, but an explanation and a snippet of information many of you have been asking me for months now, will be--to some extent--enough for the moment :)

My life has taken an interesting turn work-wise, a good turn that has flooded my days with a lot of hecticness and a crazy busy agenda. The bad thing is, this means less time for me to fulfill my biggest passion: writing. But don't worry! Kalista, Tristan and Caleb are constantly talking to me and they really can't wait to be out there with the second installment of the trilogy.

So now to the most important question. When will Alluvion come out? The book is almost done--and, God, it's one of my favorites--but most of you know that the process doesn't end with the book being finished. A lot of polishing and editing still needs to be done. So, back to my answer. I believe the last week of November is our winning week. I know. I know. The wait has been really long, but I promise you it WILL be worth it. Mark my words!

I love you guys, and thank you for all your support! You rock :)

  8. I think it is highly unprofessional, and quite rude that you haven't updated us in almost a year. Even if you didn't have a release date, regular updates would be nice. I am THROUGH with this book. This is downright OUTRAGEOUS. I personally don't think you'll ever publish Alluvion, because you've been changing the release date since spring 2012, and it is now summer 2013, and guess what? NO ALLUVIOUN! Frankly, it quite ticks me off that you have all these fans waiting for the slightest hint of an update, but you've yet to even write about Alluvion, let a lone publish it. I loved the 1st book, I really did, but I can longer put up with this lack of consistency and gratitude. Without your readers, where would you be, Ms. Vila? I wish you the best of luck with the Ylem trilogy, but as I previously stated, I am done with this series, I have given up. I can no longer tolerate it. Good riddance.

    1. CCG, I can't blame you for feeling how you feel and thinking what you think. I would feel the same. Unfortunately, my reasons are always the same. Work has overloaded my life with craziness, and with several trips I made overseas, it's taken me longer than I thought to finish this book. I would love to say I live out of my books, but I can barely buy a ticket to the movies with what I make each month. I need to pay my car and life insurance, and many other things, which is why work is my main priority right now. But that doesn't mean Alluvion will never see the day of light. Even if you won't believe me, Alluvion is just a few chapters away from the end, but like I said in another post, it's going at a snail's pace. And, remember English is not my native tongue, so it takes me three or four times more than a regular person to write (even writing this I have to think twice. Lol). But Alluvion WILL come out. I just can't promise you when.
Of course, I'm not trying to convince you or pull yo in again. You already took your decision and I fully support it. But, please, allow me to say how grateful I feel for you giving my book and trilogy a chance. I won't forget it.
I wish you the best and keep on reading and fueling your dreams!

      Take care,
      Tatiana

  9. I have read the author's excuses for not giving a da@@ about keeping her "fans" up to date with her books. I bought this book in 2010, and this is the first time she has mentioned when the next book is coming out besides the lies she was telling before saying December 2012. It is not 2013. Another thing I found interesting was that she says that her work has increased and has left her no time for writing. If this is true, how in the world did you co-write the Watchers series and that was about what 4, books, let alone the other 1 or 2 books you have written besides that. It would have taken 1-2 minutes to write to your fans to keep them up to date with everything. Just tell them the truth, you don't care about them and you hope that when you do finally get around to caring about getting the other books that you started out, that you hope that they still give you some money even though you lie and you don't care.

    1. I understand the feelings behind your words but I do deserve the chance to explain myself. I do care about my readers and work has, indeed, filled my schedule (thank God because it's what allows me to pay bills!). On top of that, I'm in the workings of opening a business with my soon-to-be husband and, really, my weeks are a bit hectic.
As for the Watchers series, I don't understand what you're saying. I just did the ebook cover design, I did not co-write it. I wish! You can ask the author yourself to see I'm not lying :)
But, please, don't say I'm a liar. I haven't lied about anything I've said. I understand your anger, but don't make any accusations with so much certainty. You can hurt people's feelings.
Take care and, like I always say, keep on reading and fueling your dreams!
